展望未来，冷冻电镜将朝着“更快、更真、更普及”的方向加速演进。在速度上，科研人员正努力将时间分辨能力从毫秒推进至微秒甚至纳秒级，以捕捉蛋白质折叠等超快生化反应；在精度上，分辨率将冲击0.1纳米，以清晰分辨单个原子的运动轨迹；在应用层面，可快速解析新发病毒结构，加快药物研发，还能指导纳米材料等创新研究。更值得期待的是，随着设备小型化、自动化和成本下降，桌面级冷冻电镜有望进入普通实验室、基层医院、学校课堂。到那时，冷冻电镜将会像常规显微镜一样，让更多人有机会看到精彩的微观世界，揭开更多生命的奥秘。
